My beer – "Paix Dieu" from Brasserie Caulier

Mieszkam w Belgii, więc mam szansę próbować różnych belgijskich piwa, może dlatego, że widzę je w trakcie codziennych zakupów, przywykłem do większości z nich. Przez 8 lat, kiedy tu jestem, miałem okazję wypróbować większość z tych piw i na pewno próbowałem również Paix Dieu, tylko że, wcześniej piwo miało czarną etykietę, a ostatnio zobaczyłem je w nowej odsłonie z białą etykietą, i pomyślałem, że to może nowego.

W 1933 roku były górnik Charles Caulier założył firmę zajmującą się dystrybucją piwa, natomiast jego wnuk Roger przeniósł ją do dawnej siedziby garbarni Tensier w Peruwelz w 1980 r. Piętnaście lat później zaczął produkować własne piwa w oparciu o produkty z innych browarów, takich jak Haacht czy browar De Nève w Schepdaal. I live in Belgium, so I have a chance to try different Belgian beers, maybe because I see them during my everyday shopping, I'm used to most of them. For eight years, when I was here, I had the opportunity to try out most of these beers and I certainly tried Paix Dieu, only that, earlier the beer had a black label, and recently I saw it in a new version with a white label, and I thought it might be a new one.

In 1933, a former miner, Charles Caulier, founded a beer distribution company, while his grandson Roger moved it to the former Tensier tannery at Peruwelz in 1980. Fifteen years later, he started to produce his own beers based on products from other breweries, such as Haacht or De Nève brewery in Schepdaal. He owes his success to the production of Bon Secours, which he sold in retro-style bottles with a mechanical cap. Beer from the Caulier brewery are just one of the few that are sold in bottles with this type of cap.

Kremow tripel, pełen charakteru; piwo rzemieślnicze, warzone według czystej tradycji belgijskich piw zakonnych. Symbol wydrukowany na etykiecie oznacza księżyc, pod którym warzono piwo.

This beer used to be brewed by the Paix Dieu abbey, where the lunar calendar played a central role. The brewery is committed to preserving the soul of the abbey and hence, this beer is only brewed when the moon is full. The result? A creamy triple full of character; an artisan beer, brewed following the pure tradition of Belgian abbey beers. A symbol printed on the label indicates the moon under which the beer has been brewed.

Jakoś tak się złożyło, że dawno nie piłem belgijskiego piwa, a szkoda. W przypadku "Paix Dieu" zaintrygowała mnie biała etykietka, zwykle była czarna. Dopiero teraz doczytałem, że piwo warzone jest tylko gdy księżyc jest w pełni. Każda warka ma odpowiednie oznaczenie na etykiecie. Piwo, które piłem to warka "Blue Moon 2018".

Mglisty żółty kolor z niedużą białą pianą, w aromacie wyczuwalna miodowa i owocowe nuty. W smaku wyczuwalny posmak gruszki oraz niektórych owoców tropikalnych, ziołowe nuty i alkohol (jednak nie wyczuwa się 10%). Wykończenie trwałe, trochę ocieplające i ziarniste, ale całkiem przyzwoite.

Somehow it happened that I have not drank Belgian beer for a long time, which is a shame. In the case of "Paix Dieu" I was intrigued by the white label, usually black. Now I have read that beer is brewed only when the moon is full. Each edition has an appropriate mark on the label. Beer that I drank was edition "Blue Moon 2018".

Misty yellow color with a small white foam, in the aroma of palpable honey and fruit notes. Taste of pears and some tropical fruits, herbal notes and alcohol in the taste (but you can not feel 10%). A permanent finish, a bit warm and grainy, but quite decent.
