BeerTime #03 - Anarchy Brew Co. - Flat Out IPA
Can of Flat Out IPA from a small English brewery Anarchy Brew Co. I found accidentally in "L'Abbaye des Saveurs" in Lille, France, my attention was drawn to a very characteristic label reminiscent of heavy metal album covers.
Anarchy Brew Co.
Anarchy Brew Co. was founded by Simon and Dawn Miles in November 2011 at the Whitehouse Farm Centre, Stannington, north of Newcastle Upon Tyne. The head brewer and co-owner Simon Miles, declares that he has been involved in home brewing since the 1980s, when as he said it was difficult to obtain funds, The inspiration behind creating Anarchy Brew Co has come from his old touring days, Simon is a big fan of Belgian Trappist & Abbey Breweries (who isn’t?).
Following on from the success of core beers, the brewery has expanded. Soon low buildings of the Whitehouse Farm Centre could not accommodate the new larger fermentation vats, so they start looking for better place to expand production and realize their ideas of creating more iconic beers, in keg, cask, and their new 440ml cans. In October 2018 Anarchy Brew Co. "move to a bigger site in Walkergate, Newcastle upon Tyne, with the addition of a new taproom playing host to tap takeovers, brewer meet-ups, gigs, DJ sets, and other popular events every Friday and Saturday".
The manufacturer's description below:
Made with vermont yeast, this IPA boasts notes of bitter orange, a touch of lime, and has an earthy, hoppy finish.
Flat Out IPA
Style: New England Session IPA
4.50% ABV
45 IBU
Country of origin: England
Coming back to the Flat Out IPA beer itself, unclear golden beer with a medium and thick white head, aroma of biscuits, citrus fruits, flower malts and a bit of caramel, all this encourages you to sip it. The taste is a complement to the aromas, medium-malt with a bitter finish. It is only a pity that a small can holds only 0.33 liters, because you want much more.
