Beer Presentation #1 - St Landelin La Divine (France)
I wrote in my introduction post that I will mainly write about Belgian beers, but due to I live close to France border, I have access to French beers. So as first I'd like to present one of them:
Saint Landelin La Divine

It's style is Bière de Garde what means "beer for keeping". Style is related to traditional classification for the farmhouse ales of France. Nowadays in this style generally we think about warm fermented strong pale ales - sometimes blonde, sometimes amber, which has much in common with Belgium ales. So we are not far away from Belgian beers :)
COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Divine de St Landelin is a high density top fermentation beer with specially selected yeasts. After a prolonged storage period the beer is packaged in a traditional swing-top cap. It has fruity, woody and caramel aromas as well as a certain bitterness persistent upon the palate.
Soft and generous, La Divine is a “grand cru” of St Landelin and has an abv of 8.5%.
Ingredients: Malt, wheat, rice, hops, spices.
Note: Labelled as 8% abv in the USA.
How I see St Landelin La Divine?
Quite rough white foam was formed on top of the beer, but it collapses fast. Dark, limpid, on the first sip you could feel bitterness and a little watery, then notes caramel, sweet malt and little roast notes. Alcohol is not noticeable.
Beer is distributed worldwide and shouldn't be any problem to find in your local market.
In my opinion in scale from 1 to 10, it is:
5,5

I hope you enjoyed my first presentation.
