[POL] Wybrałem się dziś na długi spacer po lesie w okolicach Stambruges. Trasę tradycyjnie wybrałem z aplikacji Wikiloc.com. Na taki wybór zdecydowałem się przede wszystkim dlatego, że nie znam tego lasu. Raz tylko po nim biegałem, ale to było 10 lat temu i biegłem po trasie wyznaczonej przez organizatorów, nie miałem wtedy czasu rozglądać się po bokach. Dzisiejsza trasa zaczynała się koło kościoła, tuż obok był pomnik z czarownicą. Dlaczego, akurat czarownica, to nie wiem.

[ENG] I went for a long walk in the woods near Stambruges today. I traditionally chose my route from the Wikiloc.com app. I decided on this choice mainly because I am not familiar with this forest. I have only run through it once, but that was 10 years ago and I was running along the route set out by the organisers, so I didn't have time to look around then. Today's route started near a church, right next to a statue with a witch. Why a witch, I don't know.

[POL] Zaraz po starcie się rozpadało i przez około 40 minut towarzyszył mi deszcz. Na kanale znów spotkałem wiosłujących surferów. Początkowo trasa po lesie była bardzo kręta, czasami ciężko było wybrać która ze ścieżek jest właściwa. Wszystko to skończyło się obok kapliczki, przy której zrobiono charakterystyczny pomnik "Biuro rzeczy znalezionych", czyli możemy tam znaleźć części ubrania zgubione lub zostawione przez innych w lesie.

[ENG] Right after the start it broke up and for about 40 minutes I was accompanied by rain. On the canal, I met paddling surfers again. At first, the route through the forest was very winding, sometimes it was hard to decide which path was the right one. It all ended next to a chapel, where a characteristic monument "Office of found things" was made, i.e. we can find there pieces of clothes lost or left by others in the forest.

[POL] Dalej już było prościej, dosłownie, bo trasa poprowadzona była prostymi drogami przecinającymi las Stambruges. Nawigacja po takich drogach już nie stanowiła problemu. Las rozdziela na dwie części kanał Blaton-Ath, w pewnym momencie musiałem przejść na drugą stronę po zwodzonym moście i dalej trasa prowadziła wzdłuż kanału. Myślałem, że tak będzie przez dłuższy czas, ale już po 200 metrach trasa odbiła w prawo i wszedłem w drugą cześć lasu.

[ENG] Then it was straightforward, literally, as the route led along straight roads through the Stambruges forest. Navigating these roads was not a problem anymore. The forest is divided in two by the Blaton-Ath canal, at one point I had to cross the other side on a drawbridge and the route continued along the canal. I thought it would be like this for a long time, but after 200 meters, the route turned right and I entered the other part of the forest.

[POL] Dawniej ta cześć lasu należała do właścicieli Château de Beloeil. Imponująca jest około 3 kilometrowa prosta droga prowadząca przez las do pałacu. Oprócz długiej drogi na której końcu widać pałac, pamiątką świetności jego właścicieli są ruiny budynków przy jeździe na tą drogę.

[ENG] This part of the forest used to belong to the owners of the Château de Beloeil. Apart from the long road at the end of which you can see the château, a reminder of the splendour of its owners are the ruins of buildings along the drive on this road.
