Dzień Wszystkich Świętych jest w polskiej kulturze bardzo szczególnym świętem, z jednej strony wszyscy mówią o pamięci, chwili zadumy, ale każdy kto choć raz wybrał się tego dnia na jakikolwiek polski cmentarz wie, że pośród tłumów coraz trudniej o chwilę skupienia.

Ostatnio dzięki @holdyourdream dowiedziałem się, że jestem "taphofilem", gdyż uwielbiam spacerować po cmentarzach, zgłębiać ich tajemnice, wczytywać się w epitafia na nagrobkach i "podziwiać" stare zniszczone pomniki. Akurat o te podziwianie często spieram się z żoną, która uważa, że pomniki powinny być umyte, wyczyszczone z mchu itp., ja natomiast widzę piękno w takich zaniedbanych ponad stuletnich nagrobkach.

Wczoraj wybraliśmy się po raz kolejny na spacer po cmentarzu w Mons w poszukiwaniu polsko brzmiących nazwisk, gdzie byśmy mogli zapalić kupione na tą okazję znicze. Niestety nie znaleźliśmy żadnego, albo może za słabo szukaliśmy, ale z drugiej strony odkryliśmy kolejne tajemnice tego cmentarza i pochowanych tam ludzi. Nieco z boku za niewielkim żywopłotem odwrócone "plecami" do cmentarnej ścieżki stoją cztery niepozorne krzyże, zdziwiło mnie, że wszystkie mają tabliczki "Fusillé" i datę "28-12-1942". Nie znałem tego słowa, więc szybko chwyciłem za telefon i przetłumaczyłem, okazało się, że oznacza dosłownie "rozstrzelany przez oddział egzekucyjny", czyli są to prawdopodobnie groby czterech niezidentyfikowanych członków ruchu oporu rozstrzelanych przez niemieckich okupantów.

EN ^{Yesterday we went once again for a walk in the cemetery in Mons in search of Polish-sounding names, where we could light the candles bought for this occasion. Unfortunately, we didn't find any, or maybe we didn't search hard enough, but on the other hand we discovered other secrets of the cemetery and the people buried there. On the side behind a small hedge there are four inconspicuous crosses, which surprised me that all of them have "Fusillé" plaques and the date "28-12-1942". I did not know this French word, so I quickly grabbed the telephone and translated it, and it turned out that it means literally "executed", means probably these are graves of four unidentified members of the resistance movement shot by German occupants during WW2.}

Innym bardzo charakterystycznym i wymownym nagrobkiem znalezionym wczoraj przez nas jest grobowiec rodziny Lefebvre, a w zasadzie 23-letniego Roberta Lefebvre, który był deportowany i zamordowany przez Niemców w marcu 1945 roku, bardzo wymowne są kajdany na nagrobku połączone ze zdjęciem Roberta, a u stóp kamienny węzełek z jakim najprawdopodobniej został zabrany z domu. Później w grobie razem z synem zostali pochowani jego rodzice.

EN ^{Another very characteristic and meaningful tombstone found yesterday by us was the tomb of the Lefebvre family, or in fact 23-year-old Robert Lefebvre, who was deported and murdered by the Germans in March 1945, very meaningful are the shackles on the tombstone combined with a photo of Robert, and at the foot of the stone knot which symbol the things he was most probably taken from home. His parents were buried in the grave together with his son later.}

Większość pomników jest z XX wieku, ale nie trzeba długo szukać, żeby znaleźć groby zmarłych w latach osiemdziesiątych XIX wieku, niestety większość z nich jest bardzo zniszczona i raczej nikt się nimi nie zajmuje. Co prawda wczoraj na cmentarzu było więcej ludzi niż w normalne dni, ale bez tłumów jakie przewijają się na polskich cmentarzach. Odwiedzający groby bliskich Belgowie przynoszą zazwyczaj chryzantemy w doniczkach, które albo stawiają przed grobami, a jeżeli to możliwe to przesadzają do ziemi na stałe.

Jest tam również brytyjski cmentarz wojenny żołnierzy poległych w czasie I wojny światowej, wczoraj poszukując polsko brzmiących nazwisk zwracałem większą uwagę na nazwiska poległych, jakie było moje zdziwienie, gdy wśród nagrobków brytyjskich znalazłem cztery nagrobki żołnierzy sowieckich z czasów pierwszej WŚ, później zauważyłem, że takich nagrobków z sowiecką gwiazdą jest znacznie więcej, według strony www.cwgc.org jest tam pochowanych 72 rosyjskich żołnierzy. Niestety nie dotarłem do źródeł co oni robili na w szeregach armii brytyjskiej na froncie zachodnim.

Yesterday, while searching for Polish-sounding names, I paid more attention to the names of those buried there, I was surprised when among the British tombstones I found four tombstones of Rusian soldiers from the times of the First World War, later I noticed that there are many more such tombstones with a Soviet star, according to the website www.cwgc.org there are 72 Russian soldiers buried there. Unfortunately I did not get jet to the sources of what they were doing in the ranks of the British army on the western front.}

Generalnie spacerując po tym cmentarzu nie zwracam uwagi na groby nowe, ale obok poniższych nie można było przejść bez zwrócenia uwagi. Pierwszy a'la grecka świątynia jest widoczny z daleka, jest to jeden z niewielu pomników, o które ktoś regularnie dba z inskrypcji na nagrobku można wywnioskować, że rodzina Antona-Ganche jest pochodzenia włoskiego. Wokół grobowca teren wyłożony jest kamieniami, ale nie ograniczono się tylko do kilkudziesięciu centymetrów wokół, prawdopodobnie, żeby sąsiednie groby "nie szpeciły" estetyki tego grobowca to również o nie zadbano chociaż należą do zupełnie innych rodzin.

EN ^{Mostly while I am walking through cemeteries I do not pay much attention to modern graves, but in two cases I could not walk by them without paying attention. The first is a'la Greek temple style tomb and is visible from far away, it is one of the few monuments that someone regularly takes care of from the inscriptions on the tombstone can be deduced that the Anton-Ganche is family is of Italian origin. Area around the tomb is lined with stones, but is not limited only to a few tens of centimetres around but also neighborehood tombs to make them more aesthetics, although other tombs belong to completely different families.}

A na koniec istna perełka!!! Nie wiem jak ten nagrobek określić, ani tego czym kierowała się rodzina przy wyborze takiego potworka, czy to była ulubiona marka samochodów pana Rocco? Czy może zginął on w wypadku samochodowym?
